Sample Animations

One of my great joys in this field is the creativity offered in animation. I am continually creating animations for e-learning courses to illustrate a concept or provide a more engaging learning experience. One of my biggest challenges was to increase attendance at non-required corporate training programs for a client. I created an animated advertisement campaign that created an amazing buzz throughout the organization increasing attendance rates from 40% to 100% and won a Corporate University award from Training magazine. I have used this same approach for several clients; this page offers samples of some of those efforts.

Handling Anxiety Advert
  • Handling Anxiety Advert
An animated advertisement for an instructor-led course entitled "Handling Your Anxiety." Although this was developed a couple of years ago, the "things to worry about" shown on the screen are still valid today! I give credit to oddtodd for inspiration for this successful advertisement.

  • Bioethics Advert
An animated advertisement for an instructor-led course on Bioethics. Despite the course capacity of 100 participants, nearly 300 employees—or 20% of all staff—registered to attend the first time this advertisement ran. Although the instructor(s) said it was the interesting topic, I thought it was the music!

  • Coaching Skills Advert
An animated advertisement for a course on coaching skills. The biggest challenge with creating this animation was timing the scene content with the very prominent music. As with a number of animations for this client, a medieval trumpeter appears—he was the mascot for their corporate university.

  • Communication Skills Advert
A very tongue-in-cheek animated advertisement for a series of sessions on communication skills. I had a lot of fun creating this one. I reused the graphic of the ear throughout another e-learning course. The medieval trumpeter was the mascot for the client's corporate university.

  • Financial Systems Training Advert
An animated advertisement for the updated courses offered by the client's financial systems training group. I made a push to the client to move from a lecture-based approach to a practice-based, hands-on approach. I then designed many of the software simulations used in those new programs.

  • Financial Systems Training Advert
An animated advertisement for the training courses offered by the client's financial systems training group. I designed the logo for this group as well as the slogan, "we make it all add up." The slogan was short-lived, as when the client overheard an attendee say the slogan was "we make it all up," it was immediately pulled!

  • Math Advert
An animated advertisement for a series of basic math skills courses offered to the client's front-line employees. We recorded the narration in-house, and I used a number of 3D animated gifs from Animation Factory. The medieval trumpeter was the mascot for the client's corporate university.

  • Manhattanville Advert
A client tasked me with creating an animated explanation of a potential partnership with Manhattanville College. I was told the recipient was a big Diet Coke drinker, hence the soda theme. As far as I know, this was never used, but I still think it was one of my best efforts.

  • Presentation Skills
One version of an animated advertisement for a presentation skills class. The narration is my voice with lots of reverb.

  • Presentation Skills Advert 2
One version of an animated advertisement for a presentation skills class. People always ask "That looks so familiar, what painting is that?" It is called "The Scream" by Edvard Munch.

  • VLC Advet
An animated advertisement that I was always surprised never elicited a call from the Lucas folks. The client came up with the Star Wars theme and I created a series of adverts with this same look.

  • Upgrade Advert
An animated advertisement for the upgrade of the client's current learning portal. At the time, the Matrix movies had just become part of the zeitgeist and was chosen by the client as the theme for this advert.
